The Portsmouth and Southampton offices of leading accountancy firm, Wilkins Kennedy, are pleased to confirm sponsorship of local charity, Wessex Heartbeat.
This year is the charity’s 25th year in service, providing support to people of all ages currently being treated in the Wessex Cardiac Centre in Southampton.
Local staff and Partners at Wilkins Kennedy have a historical connection with the Wessex Heartbeat team and are familiar with the excellent work they do, so when it came to nominating a charity, Wessex Heartbeat was the obvious pairing.
Ken Wilde, Commercial Manager at Wessex Heartbeat, said: “Since our foundation in 1992, we have successfully raised more than £15.8 million. The funds were allocated to crucial improvement projects in the Wessex Cardiac Centre, that wouldn’t have otherwise happened. In 25 years, the Cardiac Centre has treated more than 40,000 people with heart conditions every year including around 7,000 children. We are extremely grateful that Wilkins Kennedy has agreed to sponsor Wessex Heartbeat. We look forward to the opportunity of growing our relationship even further with them in the future.”
Geoff Collis, Partner at Wilkins Kennedy’s Portsmouth office, said: “The charity does some great work for a serious cause and we are pleased to be associated with them for their 25th anniversary year. Heart disease affects thousands of people’s lives every day and we are pleased to support such a worthy, charity.”
