More than 100 guests attended the Grosvenor Casino in Reading on Thursday 6th April for the Thames Valley Venus Awards 2017, where finalists were announced in the 15 categories.
Competition has been strong in its inaugural year in Thames Valley with 1,400 nominations and 320 applications received in one or more of the 15 categories. Launched last November, participants have been whittled down to the Finalists stage through a combination of sponsor and public judging.
Chartered Accountants and Business Advisers, Wilkins Kennedy, sponsored the Professional of the Year Award, and the finalists were:
- Cheryl Adams – Santander
- Claire Rowe – Shoosmiths Solicitors
- Nicky Larkin – Goringe Accountants
Attending on behalf of Wilkins Kennedy was David Tann, Partner at the firm’s Reading office, who said: “It was interesting to go and see our candidates’ businesses and to find out more about them; from that direct engaged experience we were able to draw up a shortlist – but it was an extremely difficult thing to do. They are all doing fantastic things in their businesses and I wish them all the very best of luck in the winners’ round.”
